New Dog Portrait Commission

Meet "Saidee", my lastest pastel dog portrait commission.  I think she's an Australian Labradoodle.  I didn't get to meet her, but got to choose which photo to paint from off of an i-phone....today's world!

The original photo had more of the pillow on her right side...which I edited out for a better composition.  She is mostly shades of gray, and the owner didn't want strong color in the background, so I kept it understated, letting the values and lines move your eye around the page with the focal point in the middle.

I haven't painted curly poodle fur before...it was fun and a challenge.

Hope you enjoy my work.

Artist Resumes, Bios and Artist Statements

I'll be presenting a program about Artist Resumes, Bios, and Artist Statements following the Pastel Society of NC's meeting Saturday, January 18th from 10 am-12 at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens, 100 Old Mason Farm Rd., Chapel Hill, NC 27517.

Learn how to confidently write for the greatest professional impact, and how these documents differ from each other in style, format and use.

You might want to bring your current resume, bio and statement with some note paper for creative brainstorming as I'll help you look at your documents through new eyes!

Oh, ...you do not need to be a member of PSNC to attend....and it's Free! So come check it out
